Dillinger’s, the Ranelagh restaurant famed for its American influenced menu and signature cocktails, is celebrating its 10th Birthday with a brand new Dinner menu to add to its recently revamped Brunch, featuring a few re-worked classics and seven completely new additions, including many Vegetarian and Vegan options also available on separate menu, for ease of ordering. Chef Kinsley Auguste has kept the signature Dillinger’s diner style throughout, knowing what his regulars love, while ramping up the flavours and expanding the options.
New starters include Jalapeño Poppers €9, deep-fried, bite-size pops of cauliflower, jalapeno, cheese with a blue cheese dressing, and Prawns Pil Pil €11 or €22 as a main, a hearty dish of chargrilled prawns in olive oil, garlic, chillies and herbs with toasted garlic sourdough for mopping up the juices.
Roast Chicken Breast €23 is served up with a parmesan crust, drizzled with sage brown butter, on a crispy potato rosti with creamed corn, beans and red onion. The Seafood Hotpot €24 is already a popular main, packed with gambas, mussels, clams, Dublin Bay prawns with chorizo and toasted sourdough. A true winter warmer, the Chargrilled Pork Chop €22 comes with sides of sage & mustard mash, kale, pumpkin puree and spiced apple sauce. Perfectly rare Venison Haunch €24 is complemented by a potato fondant, smoked pancetta, creamy sprouts, carrot puree and a red wine jus.
The all-new Vegetarian and Vegan menu makes it easier to choose a dish to suit your dietary preferences. As well as versions of the main menu dishes, there’s Charred Haloumi Skewers €10 or €20 served on a bed or romesco, mixed peppers and quinoa with balsamic reduction. The Killer Curry €19 is Chef’s special recipe and it’s a big hit, packed with veg in a curry sauce that packs a punch. Just landed is the Beyond Meat burger as the Dillinger’s Veggie Burger €17 – purely plant based and available as a vegan option too.
Early Diner at Dillinger’s is served Thursday to Saturday from 5.30pm to 6.45pm and all night on Sunday and Monday, offering 2 courses for €22, with a choice of 4 starters and 5 mains, including many of the Dillinger’s classics and meat-free options too. For starters, there’s a choice of Jalapeno Poppers, Frank’s Hot Wings, Honey Roast Sweet Potato Tacos and Tuna Tostados. For mains, choose from Smoky BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Crispy Nachos, Killer Curry, Dillinger’s Classic Beef Burger or Seafood Hotpot.
Brunch is where it’s at in Dillinger’s, served Saturday and Sunday from 10.30am to 4pm and from 12pm on Bank Holiday Mondays. Enjoy fresh takes on diner classics. From the ‘Indulge’ options, the Scrambled Eggs Deluxe (€16) are a must have. Scrambled eggs on grilled multi-seed rye sourdough, topped with house made Beetroot Cured Salmon, asparagus and topped with hollandaise. Contemporary and delicious, the Feta & Sweetcorn Fritters (€14) are packed with sweet potato, courgette & feta, piled high and topped with guacamole, kale, saffron yoghurt, spinach and poached eggs. Ditch the diet with the French Toast Crumpets (€13.50) with a choice of crispy dry cured bacon and maple syrup or caramelised banana and vanilla Greek yoghurt.
The cocktails at Dillinger’s are no afterthought, and benefit from the same generosity of spirit with at least a 50ml measure in each. The best Brunch starts with a Dillinger’s Breakfast Bloody Mary (€12) with Kettle One vodka, special bloody mary mix and a mini breakfast skewer of a quail’s egg, bacon, olive and a pickle. House fave is the 777’s Margarita (€12) with Don Julio Blanco tequila, lime & triple sec. With a full bar, a Dillinger’s dinner or brunch is even better enjoyed with your choice of excellent wines, craft beers, classic cocktails, after dinner drinks or something sparkling. You’ve earned it.
