This episode really fuels the travel wanderlust with insider tips and great stories from her amazing list of guests including Michael Palin, the British explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes and the Lonely Planet founder Tony Wheeler.

Holly tells us why she loves travelling so much, how she got into travel journalism and transport us to her favourite day-dream destinations and shares fer hidden gems and the countries left on the bucket list.

Holly talks about how she has over 1800 travel items on her Google Maps list with bookmarked restaurants, museums, hotels, beaches and places to see. “I have a million lifetimes of things to see and do on my travel bucket list”. When asked to name her favourite hotel, Holly chose the Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel in Santa Barbara, California.

The Travel Tales with Fergal Podcast has two special episodes with travel industry experts this week with Pol O’Conghaile, the travel editor of the Irish Independent on the previous episode.

When both travel journalists were asked which country comes up the most with interviewees as a favourite, both said Japan because it is so exotic, foreign but also very save.
