~ 70,000+ Germans to hear and read all about Ireland’s superb food offering ~

Well-known chef Cornelia Poletto and TV presenter Dennis Wilms, both from Germany, have been visiting Ireland to record two episodes for their popular podcast called ‘Iss was, Hase?!’ (meaning ‘eat something, my dear!’). Their visit was supported by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The two Ireland episodes – which will air next week and at the beginning of July – will focus on some of the superb culinary experiences on offer in Mayo and Sligo, as well as the local people behind the food. Cornelia and Dennis have been capturing content at places like An Port Mór Restaurant in Westport, where they met with its chef-owner Frankie Mallon. They also met with skipper Donal Kennedy on board the ‘Leah’, before fishing in Killala Bay, with whiskey expert Julia Nourney of The Connacht Distillery, as well as with Aisling Kelly Hunter of the Sligo Oyster Experience in Strandhill and Anthony Gray of Taste of Sligo.

Cornelia Poletto’s time here will also be documented in a German food magazine called Der Feinschmecker. A four-page spread will be published later this year featuring lots of wonderful images from Ireland – reaching more than 60,000 people across Germany.

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager in Germany, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to support the visit of Cornelia Poletto and Dennis Wilms to Ireland. They will be documenting their foodie journey in Sligo and Mayo on their popular podcast and a four-page article about Cornelia’s time here will appear in the German food magazine ‘Der Feinschmecker’, meaning that over 70,000 people across Germany will hear and read all about Ireland’s superb culinary experiences – reminding them that Ireland is a fantastic choice for a ‘foodie’ holiday.”
