GUINNESS STOREHOUSE KICKS OFF CULTURE DATE WITH DUBLIN 8 WITH A SPECIAL EVENING WITH HOW TO GAEL.

24th April 2025: Immerse yourself in an unforgettable evening on Tuesday, May 6th with How To Gael, Ireland’s leading bilingual podcast sensation, selling out venues and topping podcast charts all over Ireland and beyond. The event will be held at the iconic Guinness Storehouse Gravity Bar, where attendees can enjoy stunning 360-degree views of Dublin while being part of Culture Date With Dublin 8’s Late In D8 festival programme.

Join Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, Louise Cantillon, and Síomha Ní Ruairc as they take their live show to the highest venue in Dublin – The Gravity Bar at Guinness Storehouse for a seó speisialta celebrating the joys and scéalta of Baile Átha Cliath 8 in this vibrant local cultural initiative, recorded as a live episode of ‘How To Dublin 8.’

The event is one of the flagship events announced as part of this year’s Culture Date with Dublin 8 Festival, and speaking ahead of the event Grace McEvoy, Creative and Managing Director of Culture Date with Dublin 8 commented, “Dublin 8 is a community that is bursting with creativity. In its seventh annual year, Culture Date with Dublin 8 continues to showcase the arts, history, and heritage of the neighbourhood. I am excited to be opening up the festival with the Guinness Storehouse and How To Gael flagship event, making this even more accessible for people to immerse themselves in Irish culture in new and exciting ways”. 

This year, the Guinness Storehouse celebrates its 25th anniversary through Alive in ’25. With a commitment to curating premium experiences, How to Gael at the Guinness Storehouse adds to the existing line up of events that celebrate community, Irish talent and rich heritage in a contemporary way.

Doireann Ní Ghlacáin commented on the special evening, “We’re continually blown away by the response from listeners to How To Gael, it’s really important to us that the Irish language is central in all the we do and the upsurge of public interest in our national language has allowed us to create a really special community with our listeners, allowing people all around the world to re-engage with Gaeilge. How To Dublin 8 is a unique celebration of Dublin’s rich cultural tapestry, with a special focus on the Irish language. Guests can immerse themselves in an unforgettable

experience as the podcast explores the background and history of Dublin 8, an interview with a special guest and some surprises along the way. Doors open at 8:30pm

and guests can make their way to the Gravity Bar to enjoy a creamy pint of Guinness or Guinness 0.0 as the sun sets across Dublin, before the show kicks off at 9.15pm.
