Journalists from Swedish radio station Mix Megapol are broadcasting two live editions of their morning show, Gry Forssell med vänner (meaning ‘Gry Forssell with friends’), from Ireland this week. Reaching over 2 million listeners each week, Mix Megapol is one of Sweden’s most popular radio stations. The journalists are visiting as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

Before doing the live broadcasts, the journalists have been taking some time to explore Ireland – including the Irish National Stud & Gardens, Abbeyfield Farm for horse riding and clay pigeon shooting and the Rock of Cashel, as well as Howth for a boat trip to Ireland’s Eye with Howth Adventures and a visit to the Baily Lighthouse. They also enjoyed a tour of Windmill Lane Recording Studios.

Sarah Dee, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for the Nordic Region, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to welcome the Mix Megapol team to broadcast live from Ireland. Experiencing our superb visitor attractions and experiences first hand allows them to share the magic of Ireland with their listeners back home. Their broadcasts will inspire thousands of Swedes to add Ireland to their travel ‘wish list’ and begin planning their own Irish holiday.”

This visit is part of Tourism Ireland’s extensive publicity programme to raise awareness of Ireland around the world. Inviting influential media personalities – like the Mix Megapol team – to experience Ireland first hand is a key part of that programme, helping to showcase Ireland’s superb tourism offering to potential visitors everywhere.
