Recharge and relax on the Velvet strand at Portmarnock Hotel & Golf links hotel.

Nestled in the sand dunes in a secluded corner of the famous Velvet Strand beach is Portmarnock Hotel & Golf links hotel.
I love to go running or walking past this beautiful hotel several times a week but had yet to spend any proper time there.
It’s the kind of place you pass and even the car park entrance area looks inviting, manicured and well maintained.  It’s no surprise this hotel is hugely popular for Weddings & family occasions with endless pretty location photo opportunities.
This hotel was once family home to the Jameson family and the building has been in existence since 1847. Its unique and beautiful beach location means the only thing you are overlooked by is the Irish Sea. They boast an award-winning Links Golf course and Spa on the premises also.
We stayed 1 night with dinner and bed & breakfast.  The rooms are to a high standard and start from €110 per person sharing.
The atmosphere is very relaxed throughout the hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful. Our Waitress Ellie was first class in looking after us in the historic Jameson Bar. There is also an extensive wine & cocktail menu to choose from.
Although our stay was under 24 hours, I totally relaxed the minute that I arrived and I adored the stunning sea view from my bedroom room.
At times we all need to have a switch off-break and without doubt, the Portmarnock Hotel & Golf links hotel offers you that
Check-in, switch off. an let that stunning Seaview sink in
