Epic Museum Dublin, a truly Epic experience for the Go Wild Magazine team

Wow, to say that we were blown away by our Epic experience would be an understatement.

On arrival, we were immediately welcomed by the Epic team who gave us a great introduction to the museum and we were both honestly blown away by the sheer size of the building and what awaited us on the tour.

Going downstairs to start our tour, you immediately feel like you have been transported back in time in the underground caverns and introduced to the future with amazing high tech Audio & visual displays.

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum, EPICCHQ.com located in Dublin’s Docklands, covers the history of the Irish diaspora and emigration to other countries. It was designed by the London-based design firm Event Communications and was voted as “Europe’s Leading Tourist Attraction” at the 2019, 2020 and 2021 World Travel Awards.

As you meander through the museum time seems to become irrelevant and you get lost in rediscovering Irish history learning it way better than any school day.

My wife and I were astounded by the visual and high tech displays that were around every corner and stamping & completing our EPIC passport was also great fun.

On the digital wall of names, you are encouraged to enter a relatives name who emigrated from Ireland and the wall searches a vast database to track their journey

I entered my Grandmothers name & details to discover( as in the photo) that it was the second time in two days that her name had been searched. Mind-blowing to think that another relative had done the same thing 24 hours earlier.

We could easily have spent another enjoyable hour in the museum but as Arnold says, We’ll be back!!!!!!

Leaving the museum you become aware of the size and scale of the building and the vision and the massive financial investment by Neville Isdell to create such an amazing spectacle where present & future technology brings the past to life
