“A day in the life of” Sarah Hamilton, North American Sales Manager, Brendan Vacations

Born and raised in Blackrock, Co.Louth, I caught the travel bug when I joined The CBOI (cross border orchestra of Ireland) introduced me to the beautiful world of Orchestral Music and the opportunity to travel around the World—playing locally in Ireland, throughout Europe, and Performing across the USA. While travelling, I fell in love with NYC.

After completing my university degree, I moved to the big apple in 2010. I am very fortunate to promote the island of Ireland every day.

Q 1- How does your normal day begin?

First up is a cup of coffee, and out for a quick walk. Once home, I check emails and check-in with my Dublin Colleagues for urgent matters that need to be addressed.

Q 2- What are your biggest daily challenges?

I tend to place crazy expectations on myself; I often feel there are not enough hours in the day. I set a “what got done ” list and focused on the accomplishments to overcome this.

Q3- What do you love most about your job?

Brendan Vacations has allowed me to share memories and my love of my home proudly. I get to inspire people to weave their own Celtic. We take guests personally and connect them to the heartbeat of the Celtic Isle, the people.

Q 4- What do you do to relax?

Exercise does wonders for my mental health, a 15-minute walk or a 6-mile run. Having that time to myself and taking care of my body helps me.

Q 5-Favourite staycation destination in Ireland and why?

Ashford Castle: it exceeds every expectation with each visit; the people of Ashford and Cong are genuinely incredible. Every visit is exquisite, and every memory we make surpasses the last.

Q 6-Favourite holiday destination worldwide?

I grow and learn from the people and their culture at each destination I visit and take a little bit of their home back with me every time.

But Italy has my heart.

Q 7-Favourite Business motto?

“If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themselves.” (Maria Edgeworth)

I believe that if we take care of every opportunity that presents itself, we nourish and grow each relationship with our fantastic travel advisor partners, our guests, suppliers and our team. We will have the best possible outcome – both personally and professionally.

Q 8. Advice for young business entrepreneurs

There is a fine line between fear and excitement. If you are given an opportunity and anxiety may be holding you back, remember you are stronger, smarter, and more capable than you think.
