Adrian Dunbar: My Ireland, a new TV series fronted by Fermanagh actor and Line of Duty star, Adrian Dunbar, begins airing on Channel 5 this evening (23 November). It will be seen by an estimated 2 million viewers across Britain.

The two-part series will follow Adrian Dunbar as he returns to his hometown of Enniskillen and visits places that hold fond memories for him. He will also check out some places he has always wanted to visit but has never before found the time. The series was devised by Afro-Mic Productions, a Belfast-based production company, and supported by Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI.

In this evening’s episode of Adrian Dunbar: My Ireland, viewers will see Dunbar visit Slieve League, Glenveagh National Park, Devenish Island and the Carlingford Oyster Company. He will also visit MacNean House & Restaurant and meet celebrity chef Neven Maguire.

In episode two, which will air on 30 November, he will meet artist Jim FitzPatrick in Howth and another well-known chef, Richard Corrigan – who will give Adrian a tour of his Virginia Park Lodge. Viewers will see Adrian visit Newgrange, Powerscourt Estate and Hook Lighthouse. They’ll also see him taking a trip on the DART and cycling across the Kilmacthomas Viaduct on the Waterford Greenway.

Judith Cassidy, Tourism Ireland’s Acting Head of Great Britain, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to support the production of this new two-part TV series, Adrian Dunbar: My Ireland. With around 2 million people across Britain set to watch the series, it’s a great way to shine a spotlight on our spectacular scenery and fantastic outdoor activities, as well as our wonderful culinary offering.

“Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of promotional activity, to encourage travellers in Britain, and elsewhere around the world, to put Ireland on their holiday wish-list.”
