The Go Wild team become enthralled tourists at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.

To start, all that I can say is that from the moment that we entered the Guinness Storehouse we received a truly Irish welcome and the reception team are to be applauded for their courtesy and enthusiasm for what we are about to discover. A special word of thanks to Tabitha Bourke Cooney for taking care of our team so well.

We then begin the most amazing meander through time courtesy of stunning audiovisuals bringing us the history and the entrepreneurial journey of the Guinness family. We discover the intricacies involved in the process of creating that final pint of Guinness that is such a world-famous beverage.

The feeling on the tour is that you are in the heart of the brewery surrounded by steel structures that remind you of the past industrial history and merge the cold steel with the warmth derived from various audiovisual displays. One of the visual displays of a female surgeon describes in great detail the part played by Arthur Guinness’s wife Olivia Whitmore who supported Arthur in his dream to bring Guinness to the world. Behind every great man, there certainly is a great woman.

As we ascend the various levels we are struck by the centre of the building resemble a large pint glass in its design and culminates at the top in the Gravity Bar.

Exiting the lift at the Gravity bar we are simply blown by a 360-degree view of Dublin City at nighttime which resembles the cream top of a pint of Guinness. Stunning architectural design.

Guinness Storehouse Operations manager Tommy Hannan was on hand to give the full history and story of the Guinness Storehouse and enthralled all of the team with his knowledge and passion for the project.

An amazing part of the tour was the opportunity to have my tiger-themed STOUTie (a pint of Guinness with your selfie on top).

Before our departure, we also had the opportunity to enjoy a really beautiful meal in the Guinness restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal & food collaboration with Hakkahan Restaurant.

The chefs at 1837 Bar & Brasserie at Guinness and Stoneybatter’s revered restaurant Hakkahan have collaborated on two limited edition signature dishes to celebrate the Lunar New Year through food.
