~ German journalists find inspiration in Ireland ~
Five journalists from Germany, who have a combined audience of around 1.6 million, have been exploring Ireland and our ‘spooky’ attractions, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI.
The journalists – who represent various print and online publications – have been following a bespoke itinerary showcasing some of the spooky experiences that Ireland has to offer.
Their itinerary includes a visit to Malahide Castle and a Dark Dublin Tour. They’ve also been enjoying guided tours of Brú na Bóinne and the Hill of Tara in County Meath and learning all about Ireland’s myths and legends from ‘leprechaun whisperer’ Kevin Woods in County Louth.
Along the Causeway Coastal Route, the group explored Mussenden Temple, Dunluce Castle, the Giant’s Causeway, the Dark Hedges and Carrickfergus Castle. Their visit also included a guided tour of Crumlin Road Gaol and Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Germany, said: “We were delighted to invite this group of influential German journalists to visit Ireland. There is no better way to truly appreciate what Ireland has to offer than by experiencing it first-hand. The journalists will inspire their audiences across Germany to come and explore our rich heritage for themselves, via the articles and content they produce and share.”
