Ireland interviews- “A day in the life of” Pauline Prescott, founder of Skincare

Entrepreneur, sustainability advocate and skincare pioneer are just a few ways to describe Pauline Prescott, founder of the multi-award-winning Shannon-based brand, Frances Prescott Skincare. Driven by a desire to create skincare that transforms how we treat our skin, drives change in our approach to products, and delivers next-generation ethical beauty, real innovation, efficacy and conservation are at the heart of everything Pauline Prescott strives to achieve.

Q 1- How does your normal day begin?

Every day starts with a Tri-Balm cleanse, quickly followed by hot water with lemon, ginger and turmeric, which I sip throughout the day. It’s a health and wellness thing, preparing for the day in the healthiest way I can.

Q 2- What are your biggest daily challenges?

Trying to manage everything I want to do with my current schedule. It quickly gets crowded.  I remind myself that it is the reward of a growing business, to avoid getting overwhelmed!

Q3- What do you love most about your job?

I work with an awesome team and we serve the greater community of consumers with fantastic products.  I enjoy controlling the destiny of this young company. I also love working on skincare formulations.

Q 4- What do you do to relax?

I love gardening, cooking and fishing when time allows.  Most of my relaxing pursuits are done in solitude, as the rest of my life is spent in the community.

Q 5-Favourite staycation destination in Ireland and why?

Ashford Castle, a stunning castle hotel on the coast, is surrounded by breath-taking grounds, with fishing, hawk training and countless leisure pursuits available.  A little glimpse into Irish history and a lesson on the importance of relaxation!

Q 6-Favourite holiday destination worldwide?

New Zealand, which is very much like Ireland and incredibly naturally beautiful. Agricultural towns with small community-led businesses, and very welcoming!

Q 7-Favourite Business motto?

It’s a mistake to think you have time. Time is free, but priceless.  You can’t earn it, only use it; can’t keep it, only spend it.  Once it’s lost, you never get it back, so don’t rest in the middle!

Q 8. Advice for young business entrepreneurs

Find something you are passionate about and focus on something that takes you closer to that goal every day.
