Aer Lingus direct routes connecting Shannon and Cork to Paris take off today 

The new Shannon to Paris service represents the re-establishment of a connection between both airports after an absence of 12 years

  • The Shannon to Paris route will operate twice weekly
  • The Aer Lingus Cork to Paris route will operate between 22nd September to 30th October, 2023

Friday, 22nd September: Aer Lingus direct services to Paris depart from Shannon and Cork airports today, Friday 22nd September, re-establishing the connection between Paris and Shannon airports after 12 yearsThe flights carry excited Irish rugby supporters, to the Stade de France for Ireland’s highly anticipated match against South Africa, in Paris on Saturday.

With flights operating twice weekly from Shannon, this addition to the Aer Lingus route network aims to provide valuable connections and increased capacity for leisure and business travellers. The airline expects the Shannon – Paris route to increase inbound traffic to the west of Ireland, providing travellers with a gateway to region’s legendary landscapes, waterways and culture.

European passengers will also benefit from convenient connections onto Aer Lingus services to the United States through Shannon Airport. The scheduling of the Paris to Shannon route has been carefully designed to ensure travellers have ample time to catch connecting flights to Boston or JFK via one of the two A321 LR aircraft based at the airport. This opportunity offers passengers the added advantage of experiencing Aer Lingus’ newest and most environmentally friendly aircraft, with reduced emissions and a quieter, more enjoyable flight experience.

The temporary Cork to Paris route will operate until October 30th, providing rugby supporters from the Munster area easier access to the games. The flight schedule has been planned to coincide with the Ireland matches and most weekends will see outbound flights on Fridays and returns on Sundays.
