A new video wishes the world a Happy St Patrick’s Day using a haunting cover of Breathless by The Corrs, performed by Irish band Lemoncello. The video includes stunning footage of Ireland and captures the excitement of festivities happening around the island on 17th March. The message is that, while the world goes green on one day of the year, Ireland’s beauty is evergreen, with landscapes and scenery that will leave you breathless. To view the video, click here
It will deliver an estimated 29 million quality opportunities to see what the island of Ireland has to offer as a holiday destination.
The new video is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s extensive programme of activity for St Patrick’s Day this year. Since 2010, Global Greenings have been a great way to invite everyone around the world to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. Tourism Ireland took a pause at the outbreak of war in Ukraine and during the ensuing energy crisis. However, communities still choose to light up landmarks in green. Tourism Ireland is supporting Global Greenings for St Patrick’s Day once again in 2025 – working with selected iconic landmarks in key tourism markets and providing a toolkit for additional locations that wish to get involved. Sites due to light up in green include Niagara Falls, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Empire State Building, the Sky Tower in Auckland, Trafalgar Square in London and the Sacré-Cœur in Paris.
Further highlights of Tourism Ireland’s St Patrick’s 2025 programme include:
- Tourism Ireland’s busy programme of consumer marketing activity will run across social media, email, website and publicity, in the run-up to and on St Patrick’s Day.
- Making the festival the hero, Tourism Ireland will welcome international media to Ireland to stream, broadcast and share reasons to come to our island during St Patrick’s Week, with an audience reach of over 200 million. The organisation will host TV presenters on the ground, streaming the Dublin festival and travel tips from around the island to news desks across the world.
- A St Patrick’s day documentary will air on BBC Four in Great Britain and on the ARTE channel in Europe.
- Tourism Ireland will bring a taste of the action around the world – including its Ireland Week activities in Madrid, Milan, Paris and Switzerland and its support for St Patrick’s Day parades and festivals in cities around the world. The new festival in Madrid will bring a taste of Ireland to around 150,000 people, while coverage of the festival in New York will be broadcast to 8 million plus, all generating buzz for Irish culture and visitation.
- Tourism Ireland’s ‘Fill your heart with Ireland’ campaigns will be live, with a goal of driving consideration of Ireland as a destination to visit – running on TV in the US, Great Britain and Germany, as well as on digital channels in all markets.

Alice Mansergh, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, said: “St Patrick’s Day provides a unique opportunity to showcase the very best of Ireland to the world. This is a time of year that attracts an estimated 100,000 overseas visitors to the island. Promotion of all we offer visitors at this time of year leads to the highest level of online research for ‘holidays to Ireland’ annually, so the spotlight for Ireland created during St Patrick’s Week tees up spring and summer travel ahead. This year, we are excited to bring our new St Patrick’s Day video, global publicity programming, a St Patrick’s Day documentary and iconic greenings to the world. This is a moment to highlight that, while the world goes green for one day, Ireland’s beauty is evergreen, and we look forward to inspiring even more people to visit our island and experience its magic for themselves.”
