Welcome to A day in the life of Sean Connick.

  1. Q1. How does your normal day begin? My day begins at 7 am each morning when I listen to the radio and get the news of the day, I’m usually at my desk from 8.30 am and I attend to my emails first and then set out the work agenda with my department heads, then my busy day begins, every day is a new challenge and a new opportunity.
  2. Q2.What are your biggest daily challenges? Like all tourism projects COVID has had a devastating impact on our business, so right now the biggest challenge I face is to ensure the survival of the project, we will have to adapt and pivot our business to meet the new challenges in the tourism sector, 2021 will be another difficult year but with positive news on a vaccine, I hope that it will also be the start of the recovery and that we will once again welcome the International tourists back to Ireland.
  3. Q3 What do you love most about your job.                      I love the variety of the challenges that I face in our project and I love people so the tourism business is all about people and ensuring that they enjoy their visit and experience when they visit us, we are the ambassadors for our project, our town, our county and our country. We have made a huge impact on the development of New Ross in the last 30 years and with our ambitious future plans, we will achieve our goal of making New Ross one of Irelands Tourism Destination towns. I look forward to playing my part in achieving this goal.
  4. What do you do to relax? I enjoy playing music with some friends, I love all sports and tv and films and I’m a total car fanatic, I also love to swim and In the last few years I have taken up cycling.
  5. Favourite staycation destination in Ireland and why? Kerry has always been one of my favourite staycation destinations along with Achill Island in Co Mayo, however, I’m lucky to live in New Ross as we are at the Heart of the Southeast and I’m really spoilt for choice in the surrounding counties of Wexford, Waterford and Kilkenny with great beaches, great hospitality, walks and greenways
  6. Q.6 Favourite holiday destination worldwide? I love a driving holiday and I’ve completed the amazing Route 66 so the US is one of my favourite destinations also I drove the Amalfi Coast in Italy Summer 2019 and I love my City breaks
  7. Q7. Favourite Business motto? I have always been driven by a “Never give up Never give in” attitude which has served me well in life and business
  8. Q8. Advice for young business entrepreneurs.                                         Take your time when making decisions, always be on the lookout for new opportunities and learn from your mistakes, always believe in yourself and live the above motto of “Never give up Never give in”
