British golf journalists tee off in Ireland

~ Millions of British golf fans to read all about Ireland’s world-class golf ~

Around 4.6 million British golf fans – and potential holidaymakers for Ireland – are set to read all about our superb golf courses, following a visit by leading golf journalists from Britain. The journalists were here as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

Ahead of the Irish Open this September, the journalists had the opportunity to test their skills on the Palmer North course at The K Club, the O’Meara course at Carton House and Killeen Castle. Their itinerary also included a visit the Irish National Stud & Gardens.

Judith Cassidy, Tourism Ireland’s Acting Head of Great Britain, said: “We were delighted to invite these leading golf journalists to Ireland, to experience some of our top courses for themselves. The print and online articles they produce will reach around 4.6 million British golfers, so the visit is a really good opportunity to showcase our fantastic golf offering to a wide audience of prospective British golf holidaymakers.

“The return of The Open at Royal Portrush in July, the Irish Open at The K Club in September and the hosting of the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027 are some of the key messages for Tourism Ireland in our golf promotions this year. We know that the combination of our world-class golf and our unique brand of hospitality plays a key role in attracting golfers from Britain and around the world”.
