Biden’s Irish-Inspired Menu: Perfect Recipes for an Honorary Dinner
On the night of Wednesday, April 23rd, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, arrived in Dublin.
He met with President Michael D Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin, the home of the Irish president in Phoenix Park, and will also participate in a tree-planting ceremony.
Growing up among Irish-Americans in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the President never fails to express his pride in his Irish heritage and has been known to quote famous Irish poets, WB Yeats and Seamus Heaney.
Before Biden heads back to the US, it is expected that there will be a banquet dinner in his honour at Dublin Castle, which has sparked speculation about the possibility of traditional Irish cuisine being included.
Head of Culinary at HelloFresh Ireland, Hannah Duxbury commented,
“Biden has proudly expressed his Irish-American roots throughout his visit and how fond he is of this beautiful country. I would absolutely love to introduce the US President to some traditional Irish dishes, like stew, colcannon or a classic coddle!”
Hannah and the team at HelloFresh have pulled together three recipes that they feel would be fit for his honorary dinner in Ireland:
With Cheesy Crostini
Sausages With Spinach Colcannon
In a rich onion gravy
With Warm Dipping Bread
