Epic The Irish Emigration Museum, released a movie trailer a couple of weeks ago. But not just any movie trailer. This one had every Irish stereotype imaginable: shamrocks, dodgy accents, pints of beer, and a script that got a ‘jaysus’ from anyone who read it. Some people laughed. Most cringed. We even managed to fool a couple of film critics.
But here’s the thing: The film was actually fake.
We made it at EPIC to call out how Hollywood still gets Ireland wrong. Because after decades of romanticised pints and punch-ups, someone had to say it: THIS IS NOT US.
