Fáilte Ireland appoints Jenny De Saulles in new Director of Sector Development role

Fáilte Ireland has appointed Jenny De Saulles as Director of Sector Development, which is a new role within the National Tourism Development Authority.

Jenny, who was previously Head of Ireland’s Ancient East at Fáilte Ireland, will lead a new directorate within the organisation focusing on building industry resilience in the face of the challenges that the sector is facing.

CEO of Fáilte Ireland, Paul Kelly, announcing the appointment, said:
“I’m delighted to announce that, following a competitive recruitment process, Jenny De Saulles will lead Fáilte Ireland’s newest directorate of Sector Development. The overall softening of outbound tourism from our major markets, increased cost pressures combined with the impact of Brexit are real challenges that the tourism industry now face. Fáilte Ireland is supporting the development of a ‘world class industry’ in the face of these challenges and this new function will help ensure the long-term sustainability of the sector. Bringing her wealth of experience in the tourism industry to the role, Jenny is extremely well placed to lead out on this.”
Speaking about her new role, Jenny De Saulles said:
“I’m very much looking forward to this new and exciting role. Over the last ten years with Fáilte Ireland, I have worked closely with the tourism industry and now, as Director of Sector Development, I will be focussing on the key areas of capability, capacity and quality to sustainably generate economic activity across the country.”
Jenny will lead out on the development and implementation of programmes of activity around labour supply and skills, market retention and diversification, accommodation and quality assurance.
