Five luxury travel agents from France are exploring Ireland this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. Their programme was designed in partnership with Abbey Group.
The aim of the visit is to familiarise the travel agents with our superb luxury tourism offering, so that when they return home, they will be better informed and more enthusiastic than ever about Ireland when advising their clients about planning and booking their next luxury holiday.
Ana Luis, Tourism Ireland’s Trade Partnership Manager France, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group of specialist luxury travel agents to visit Ireland, to experience at first-hand some of our luxury tourism offering, including our boutique hotels and high-end resorts. Seeing is believing – and our aim is that when they return home, they will be even more enthusiastic about the destination, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland. Our focus on winning a greater share of the French luxury travel market aligns with our ambition to deliver increased overseas tourism revenue.
During their time here, the luxury travel agents are carrying out site inspections at some of our top luxury hotels, including The Europe Hotel & Resort, Sheen Falls Lodge, The Montenotte Hotel, Cashel Palace Hotel and The Westbury.
The travel agents’ busy itinerary also includes a guided tour of Bunratty Castle & Folk Park with private blacksmith and butter-churning demonstrations, a bodhrán lesson with J.J. Corry Independent Irish Whiskey Bonders and a boat trip on Lough Leane. They will also enjoy a visit to Spike Island, a guided tour of Coolmore Stud, an exclusive White Glove Tour of the Museum of Literature Ireland and a whiskey tasting at the Irish Whiskey Museum.
