A popular Italian TV show called Amarsi un po’ – Istruzioni per l’uso (which roughly translates as ‘Loving Yourself a Little – Instructions for Use’) has been filming at various locations in Ireland this month. The show focuses on health, wellness and self-care and has around 2.7 million viewers per episode.

Four episodes of the show were filmed here – co-produced by Tourism Ireland – and are set to air in the coming months on national Italian TV channel La7. The show is presented by two well-known Italian personalities, dancer and presenter Samanta Togni and Olympic swimming champion Massimiliano Rosolino.

The filming schedule included a cruise from Shannonbridge to Clonmacnoise with Silverline Cruisers, a tree canopy walk at Lough Key Forest & Activity Park, kayaking on Lough Key, Athlone Castle, Sean’s Bar in Athlone, Waterford Treasures and Mount Congreve Gardens. They also captured content of both presenters practicing yoga and meditation on Ballydowane Beach, cycling along the Waterford Greenway and visiting the Titanic Experience Cobh.

Marcella Ercolini, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Italy, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to support the filming of ‘Amarsi un po’ – Istruzioni per l’uso’ in Ireland. The four episodes filmed here will showcase the many ways Italian holidaymakers can relax, recharge and enjoy the outdoors on a holiday in Ireland. With around 2.7 million viewers per episode, it’s a great way to highlight Ireland as the perfect place to truly unwind and disconnect.

“Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of Tourism Ireland’s programme of activity, to inspire Italians to put Ireland on their holiday wish list.”
