Tourism Ireland – together with Limerick County Council and Visit Derry – attended the 2024 KLM Open golf tournament at The International golf club near Amsterdam over the weekend.

One of the oldest international open golf tournaments in Europe, the KLM Open attracts thousands of spectators each year – providing a fantastic platform to showcase our superb golf offering and inspire Dutch golfers to come and experience some of our top courses for themselves. Tourism Ireland took the opportunity to remind Dutch golfers that the Irish Open will take place at Royal County Down this autumn, The Open returns to Royal Portrush in 2025 and that Adare Manor will host the Ryder Cup in 2027.

Karen van der Horst, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Northern Europe, said: “Our presence at this year’s KLM Open is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s busy programme of promotions to encourage golfers in the Netherlands and other key golf markets to consider a holiday on the island of Ireland. Golf is the world’s largest sports-related travel market and Tourism Ireland is working hard to drive home the message that the island of Ireland offers Dutch golfers the complete package – with some of the very best golf in the world, stunning scenery and the warmest of welcomes.”
