The Springfield Hotel in Leixlip held a celebratory launch on December 5th to officially unveil the results of a major €1.3 million refurbishment.

The Springfield Hotel became part of The iNUA Collection in April of this year, and this substantial investment has seen upgrades to all 58 bedrooms and suites, the hotel’s lobby, the four meeting rooms and back-of-house areas. Also refreshed were the banqueting spaces, including the lovely Anna Liffey Suite, with its distinctive oak-beamed ceiling and contemporary chandeliers, and the stylish and elegant new Rye Bar and Restaurant.

The Springfield Hotel originally opened in Leixlip in 1974, founded and run by well-known couple, Paddy and Marie Hannigan. Building on its long tradition of almost 50 years of local hospitality, The Springfield Hotel’s most recent chapter also sees a new General Manager at the helm. Sean O’Keeffe has over 25 years experience in the hospitality industry and is keen to continue The Springfield Hotel’s exceptional standards of traditional hospitality in Leixlip.

“I have been at The Springfield Hotel for just a few months,” says General Manager Sean O’Keeffe, “and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know and work with the long-standing team at the hotel, as well as meeting so many of our regular local guests and customers. We’re very lucky to have such an established, caring, professional team at the hotel, many of them here for years.

I know the hotel has a great reputation for meeting our local community’s needs, from business to family events to special occasions, and today’s launch was a welcome opportunity to formally introduce some of the details of our refurbished spaces to our friends from Leixlip and the wider area.

I’m looking forward to seeing many familiar faces dining with us in our handsome new look Rye Bar and Restaurant over Christmas and into the New Year, as we remain true to the legacy of the Hannigan family — delivering outstanding customer service, comfortable accommodation, and delicious, locally-sourced food —  now in a hotel that is looking better than ever.”
