Gather & Gather Ireland Return As Principal Partner For Food On The Edge  2021

Gather & Gather Ireland are delighted to announce that they are returning as principal partner for Food On The Edge 2021. This marks the fourth year of the partnership between the workplace catering experts and the not-for-profit conference. For the first time since its inception, Food On The Edge will take place outside Galway, at Airfield Estate, Dundrum, on 18th and 19th October, and will take the form of a blended symposium with a mix of  in-person speakers and other speakers joining virtually.

Gather & Gather are very proud of their long-standing association with Food On The Edge, particularly as it allows them to put workplace catering on the same stage as some of the most brilliant forward-thinking people in the food world.

This year’s association is all the more significant given the challenges experienced by the hospitality industry over the last 18 months. The theme for 2021 is ‘Social Gastronomy’, a term that aims to reflect a more equitable food culture and a more inclusive society, using food as an essential tool to build a better ecology and safer environment for all. These values are at the core of Gather & Gather’s ethos as both food educators and cooks on a mission to positively impact society with food.

Mark Anderson, Culinary Director, Gather & Gather Ireland says, “ It has been a highlight over the years for our chefs to feed delegates and speakers, literally the ‘best of the best’, during the event in Galway. Now that Food On The Edge will take place at Airfield Estate, it’s great to do this ‘on our own patch’, showcasing products from the Farm and Estate. We know Food On The Edge will generate some great ideas that we can adapt to our business, particularly from a sustainability and social standpoint. It’s also a very motivating and inspirational time for the Gather & Gather team of chefs as they learn so much, not only from the official programme, but also from the one-to-one conversations they have with the speakers and delegates. ”

JP McMahon, founder of Food On The Edge is delighted to have Gather & Gather on board again this year, saying, “Gather & Gather have been pivotal to Food On The Edge’s growth over the last few years.  Not only are they involved as a sponsor, they have earned their place at Food On The Edge based on merit, as the principles Gather & Gather operate by are the same as a quality restaurant would. Our partnership with them is a meeting of minds that revolves around changing our food landscape for the better in all walks of life.”

The change of venue to Airfield Estate also affords Gather & Gather the opportunity to be involved in hosting the event – Gather & Gather took over the delivery of all Airfield Estate’s food and beverage services including Overends Kitchen, Stables Café, The Horsebox coffee bar, as well as public and private events and retail, in December 2020.
