Q 1- How does your normal day begin?
Up early, let the dog out, and if time allows a short morning yoga session. Breakfast together with my daughter then I drop her to school on my way to the office. The radio defaults to Newstalk in the car and I catch up on the morning news.
Q 2- What are your biggest daily challenges?
Sometimes finding enough hours in the day! Finding space and time to focus on the big picture is fundamental to a job well done. And balancing my work life as the owner of a busy marketing agency with family life with my husband and two kids. I have to work at switching off.
Q3- What do you love most about your job?
Running a busy and successful agency, having a great team of people working with me and the opportunities to work with ambitious clients and contribute to their success. No day is the same and when we see the fruits of our efforts rewarded by results that make a real difference to our clients’ businesses, well.. that’s what makes it all worthwhile.
Q 4- What do you do to relax?
Hmmm..Run, walk…with or without the dog. I love to get to bed early with a good book and most recently I have taken up golf and enjoy taking any stresses of the day out on a golf ball.
Q 5-Favourite staycation destination in Ireland and why?
A toss-up between Connemara and West Cork. My Dad hailed from Connemara and I feel a real connection to the area he came from. I love the light, the smell of the sea, the wildness and the deserted beaches. But there’s something special about the Beara Peninsula in West Cork. We had a wonderful staycation there this Summer. I didn’t want to leave.
Q 6-Favourite holiday destination worldwide?
I’m a big city break girl having spent some of my early twenties living in Europe – Brussels, Hanover, Munich, Paris. When it comes to Summer sun, we discovered Nerja in Spain 20 years ago and have been spending family Summers there since. I really missed it this Summer.
Q 7-Favourite Business motto?
One I was taught by a former boss and someone I still consider a mentor “Be a resource, not a hero”.
Q 8. Advice for young business entrepreneurs 20 words
Leave nothing behind. You’ll never know how good you can be until you try it.
