Travel journalists from Belgium have been exploring Cork city, Kinsale and Cobh, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

The journalists – whose online platforms have over 470,000 unique monthly viewers combined – arrived on the new Ryanair flight from Brussels Charleroi to Cork. As well as highlighting ease of access for Belgian holidaymakers to Cork, the aim of this visit is to shine a spotlight on Cork’s superb tourism offering and the many great things to see and do, through the articles and content the visiting journalists will write and share.

Karen van der Horst, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Northern Europe, said: “We were delighted to invite this group of Belgian journalists to explore Cork city, Kinsale and Cobh. There really is no substitute for being able to come here and experience what Ireland has to offer at first-hand. The articles and content these journalists create and share will inspire Belgian holidaymakers to visit in 2024 and beyond.”

The group’s action-packed itinerary included a Harbour Discovery boat trip with Ocean Escapes in Cobh, a visit to the Midleton Distillery Experience and a cycling tour in Cork city with Beyond the Glass Adventure Tours. They visited Nano Nagle Place and Shandon Bells and enjoyed a food tour of Cork city with Fab Food Trails. The journalists also visited Charles Fort, Kinsale Mead Co. and Titanic Experience Cobh.
