Discover Sliabh Liag Distillers in Co Donegal

Sliabh Liag Distillers (pronounced “sleeve league”) have become County Donegal’s first legal distillery in almost 200 years. Led by James and Moira Doherty, the company produces premium spirits and has set out to reclaim Donegal’s rich distilling heritage. Their award-winning and highly differentiated brands are heavily inspired by the beauty, folklore, and history of south-west Donegal.

Situated on the stunningly beautiful Sliabh Liag Peninsula, Sliabh Liag Distillers operate an artisanal distillery where they produce and hand bottle a range of spirits that are as unique as the terroir of the Donegal coastline, The Legendary Silkie Irish Whiskeys, An Dúlamán Irish Maritime Gin and Ireland’s first navy strength gin, An Dúlamán Santa Ana Armada Strength Gin and Assaranca Vodka, named after the Assaranca Falls in nearby Ardara.

Sliabh Liag Distillers are passionate about creating modern premium brands against the backdrop of the ruggedly beautiful Donegal Gaeltacht (Irish language speaking area). Work has begun on a new €6.5m distillery in Ardara, where they plan to recreate the rich smokey whiskeys made in Donegal in years gone by.  Sliabh Liag Distillers export their spirits to 23 countries and are quickly becoming one of Ireland’s most talked-about independent distilleries.
