House of Waterford – The Royal Visit

The House of Waterford was delighted to welcome Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall on Thursday 24th March 2022. Waterford has been combining the finest raw materials with expert craftsmanship for generations, creating stunning crystal renowned across the globe for the deepest and most beautiful cuts.

As part of their Royal Visit to Ireland, TRHs visited Waterford & Tipperary and visited various businesses which incorporated their interests and passions including heritage, farming, equestrian sports and arts to name a few!

At House of Waterford, TRHs experienced our rich heritage and craftsmanship and met with many of the talented craftspeople at each stage of production. They learned about the ancient craft of mould making, had the opportunity to smash & recycling a piece that didn’t reach quality standards, they witnessed the magic of molten crystal being transformed into beautiful shapes in the blowing department and even tried their hand at the art of crystal cutting!

Following the tour, TRHs emerged into the House of Waterford showroom and were presented with a Waterford Irish Lace bowl and a pair of flutes to commemorate their visit. They also spoke with a selection of local Waterford businesses including Trilateral Research, NearForm and Waterford Whiskey.

After sampling some Waterford Whiskey, they left to move on to the next stop on their Royal visit to Waterford! It was a day to remember for all of the team at House of Waterford.
