Promoting Kerry to the diaspora in Manchester

PIC SHOWS: Carina O’Brien, Vice Consul General of Ireland for the North of England; Joseph Cruise, Tourism Ireland; Helen O’Connor-Barry, Kerry County Council; Sarah Mangan, Consul General of Ireland for the North of England; Seán Hopkins, Chairperson of the Provincial Council of Britain GAA; Azeta Seery, Fáilte Ireland; and Cllr Jim Finucane, Cathaoirleach of Kerry County Council, at the Northern Community Gaelic Games in Manchester.

Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland attended the recent Northern Community Gaelic Games in Manchester, to promote festivals happening in Kerry later this year.

Tourism Ireland aims to sustainably support the economies of communities right across the island and to grow overseas tourism revenue to our regions outside of the peak season, so this was an excellent opportunity to connect with the diaspora in Manchester and encourage them to come home and visit Kerry this autumn. The message was that Kerry is a great choice for an off-season holiday or short break with some great events happening, including ‘Kerry Homecoming Festival at Halloween’ – which is part of the Global Irish Festivals Series, a joint initiative between Fáilte Ireland and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
