Tourism Ireland in the United States, together with major tour operator Globus, invited 12 popular influencers to visit Ireland. The influencers – who have a combined audience of around 6.6 million followers – have been capturing lots of great content here and then sharing it with their followers, to inspire them to choose Ireland for their next vacation.
Their programme – called the ‘Green with Envy: Ireland by Design’ tour – includes a welcome reception in Dublin at Roe & Co Distillery, Tullamore, Athlone, Westport, Kylemore Abbey, Galway and the Cliffs of Moher.
Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “We know that travellers are increasingly using social media and mobile devices for inspirational travel content and ideas, so we were delighted to welcome this group of popular US influencers to Ireland. They’re gathering and generating wonderful new content about Ireland and then sharing it with their followers – encouraging them, in turn, to put Ireland on their vacation ‘wish-list’ for 2023.
“The United States remains an extremely important market for tourism to the island of Ireland. In 2019, we welcomed 1.7 million American visitors, whose visits delivered €1.6 billion for the economy.”
