THE GUINNESS STOREHOUSE UNVEILS ITS INTERACTIVE CHRISTMAS VISITOR EXPERIENCE

THE GUINNESS STOREHOUSE HAS COLLABORATED WITH SOME OF IRELAND’S MOST EXCITING CREATIVE TALENTS TO DESIGN A CHRISTMAS SPECTACLE TO EXCITE THE SENSES

  • MUST-SEE EXPERIENCES INCLUDE A CHRISTMAS TREE FEATURING 1759 LIGHTS, SOUNDSCAPED CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND A FESTIVE MENU SHOWCASING WORLD-CLASS IRISH PRODUCE

Wednesday 22nd November Today the Guinness Storehouse has launched its Christmas festive spectacle, featuring a state-of-the-art cinematic experience and eye-catching installations, including the 8.5 metre tall Guinness Storehouse Christmas tree featuring an inviting tunnel to welcome visitors to the Home of Guinness.

The recently awarded Leading Tourist Attraction in Europe has collaborated with exciting multi-media talents, Farouk Alao, Sorcha O’Higgins and Ger Clancy, as well as Jason Boland (Kodaline), who has created an original piece of music that brings the magical experience to life. The Guinness Storehouse has continued to engage Ireland’s creative community for its Christmas experience, following in the footsteps of previous Guinness Storehouse collaborators including Annie Atkins and Shane Griffin aka GRIF. Sorcha O’Higgins artwork represents the Guinness Storehouse through the ages – an industrial past, an iconic present, and a technicolour future, while Ger Clancy’s take on the iconic St James’s Gates, makes for the perfect picturesque backdrop to festive photos this season.

This year, visitors can interact with a cinematic experience that uses cutting-edge technology to breathe new life into stories and photography from the Guinness Archives. Curated by Nigerian-Irish multi-disciplinary artist Farouk Alao, each scene uses motion technology to invite visitors to explore, capture and share unforgettable moments of festive celebration with friends and family during their tour.

Farouk Alao said: “It has been an incredible opportunity to collaborate with the Guinness Storehouse to bring this immersive Christmas experience to life, I’m really looking forward to people interacting with this experience and it finally going live!”

One of the first visual installations that consumers will see is the dramatic tunnel, which sits beneath the Guinness Storehouse Christmas tree featuring 1759 lights as a nod to the year Guinness began, and reframes the 9,000-year lease signed by Arthur Guinness.

There are seasonal experiences to marvel at and excite the senses behind St. James’s Gate this Christmas, A giant bauble display fills the building, perfect for capturing a story for Instagram, whilst pop-up live entertainment during the holidays will help visitors create special memories in Dublin at the Guinness Storehouse.

For visitors seeking a taste of the best local produce and world-class Irish ingredients, you can enjoy a menu of delicious festive food in the restaurants at the Home of Guinness. Featuring some of the best artisan producers like Kish Fish and Medialuna, as well as Irish cheese producers and Irish Craft Butchers, visitors can sample exclusive Christmas menu items like the spiced beef sandwich, Mulled Guinness and Guinness smoked salmon – meaning you can take a taste of the Guinness Storehouse from our home to yours this Christmas.
