TV show ‘Ireland With Michael’ to highlight our culture, music and history to millions in the United States

Renowned Irish tenor Michael Londra is back in Ireland, filming for season three of his television show Ireland With Michael. The new season of the critically acclaimed TV series will air to millions of viewers across the United States on PBS, shining a spotlight on our culture, music and history – through the eyes of our greatest assets, our artists.

Season three, which will be released early next year, follows the same format as previous seasons – with eight half-hour episodes filmed at numerous locations across the island of Ireland. Filming is taking place in counties Kerry, Roscommon, Londonderry, Donegal, Monaghan, Louth, Dublin and, of course, Londra’s home county of Wexford.

Ireland With Michael is sponsored by Tourism Ireland, CIE Tours International and Aer Lingus. Filming on the island of Ireland was supported by Fáilte Ireland and Tourism NI.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted to be associated with the ‘Ireland with Michael’ series and we look forward to season three featuring again on the PBS network. Music is a fundamental part of contemporary Irish culture and an important aspect of a vacation to the island Ireland. PBS is available in over 100 million households across the United States, so this will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the island of Ireland and our rich culture to a huge audience in 2023 and to encourage them to ‘press the Green Button’ and book their trip to Ireland.”

In Ireland with Michael, Londra will take viewers to some popular and some lesser-known locations to learn about Irish history, meet local artisans, experience some of our pubs and delicious local produce, as well as to enjoy unique musical and cultural experiences. He will travel from county to county, connecting with local musicians and artists and immersing viewers in our rich cultural heritage.

Londra’s busy itinerary covers interviews and performances with various personalities, including Darina Allen, Moya Brennan, Riverdance cast members, Aoife Scott and tenor Gavin Ring. He will also showcase up-and-coming talent such as Sasha Terfous (the Poet Laureate for Wexford), traditional band Ceol, fiddle player Damien McGeehan, harpist Úna Walsh and concertina artist Shelly O’Grady.
